What lies behind ByblosWood

Long before Greece and Rome flourished, Byblos was a powerful, independent city-state in Phoenicia with its own kings. The oldest continuously inhabited city in the world has given its name to the Bible, developed the alphabet and formed the major naval and trading power in the region (1200-800 BC). Byblos or Jbeil nowadays is located on the Mediterranean coast of LEBANON. A land of Cedar and commerce, the natives of Byblos used to trade cedar wood, in the region and far, for construction palaces & naval vessels, treating illness and for mummification. This custom has built a prosperous connection between civilizations. Today, we feel proud to carry on this bond around the world, offering the best we have, turning abilities into opportunities, forging good ideas and styles, developing our quality performance as to unique wooden creations… But above all we want to preserve our environment as part of our convention. As follows, wood is our essential material. It satisfies senses, reflects generosity within a warm welcome. Yet, the wood used for our production of items comes from plantations, avoiding the progressive de-forestation, which at present takes place everywhere and which erodes the earth.
